  2. README for 'umsdoc90.lha'

  5. 'umsdoc90' is the first release of public documentation for UMS V9.
  6.  
  7. This  archive  may  be freely copied and distributed, as long as it is
  8. left  unchanged.   Usage  of others packers is allowed, but the single
  9. files may not be changed and no files may be added or removed from the
  10. archive.
  11.  
  12. It contains the folloing files:
  13.  
  14.   Readme.txt            - this file
  15.   Acknowledgements.txt  - some acknowledgements
  16.   ums-mf.doc            - the UMS message format
  17.   ums.doc               - the ums.library functions
  18.   ums.h                 - C includes for ums.library
  19.   ums-cfg.doc           - the UMS config file

  22. These texts "ums.doc", "ums.h", "ums-cfg.doc" describe the current
  23. Amiga implementation of UMS.
  24.  
  25. Nevertheless they may well be used when writing an UMS system for
  26. other machines.

  29. The  current  Amiga  implementation  of UMS is available in an archive
  30. called  'umslib90.lha'.   This  archive contains only the message base
  31. processor  ('ums.library'  and  'l:umsserver')  and importers for UUCP
  32. ('rmail' and 'rnews').
  33.  
  34. Since  there  is  no newsreader and no exporter, this archive is still
  35. USELESS to USERS!!!
  36.  
  37. It is only meant to allow programmers that want to write programs for
  38. UMS to have a first look at it.
